Get Involved.

Opportunities for visitors and supporters of Berwyn Shops: A Homegrown Project have the potential to exceed being just a customer (although we do love seeing you at the shops!). Part of our core mission is to offer loyalty beyond our 12 seasonal Vendors, extending an invitation for community members to be spotlighted through their talents, passions, and causes. Getting involved is easy - if we're offering an opportunity that resonates with you, we would be delighted to see you sign up to participate in this unique project.

  Live Performances

The Berwyn Shops is all about bringing community together – whether that be through supporting our 12 Vendors, opening a door for residents to support local small businesses, or giving individuals the opportunity to shine in the things they are passionate about. During all hours of operation, the Berwyn Shops would like to invite musicians near and far to share their music with our visitors as they walk throughout our colorful and lively site at no cost to you.

We’d like to spotlight all artists, from guitarists, vocalists, and bands – the Berwyn Shops would love for you to join us! Operating in two-hour increments Friday-Sunday, visiting musicians will be positioned right in the back center of the walkway, allowing anyone who comes and goes to hear your tunes. Have an amp or mic? No problem, we’ll plug you in and make sure you have all access to electricity for your performance.

Applying to be a performer is simple, just click the button to the right to share your information, from what music you play to what set up you’ll need to do so. Be sure to have a sample of your music on hand for the application submission.

The Berwyn Development Corporation reserves the right to approve, disapprove, or dismiss anything at its discretion. All performance equipment must be brought, set up, and taken down by the performer. Arrival and operation rules will be communicated once approved to partake as a musician at the site. The Berwyn Shops and BDC are not responsible for any materials, equipment, or damage of a musician’s belongings during the event.

Live Painting

  Live Painting

Live painting will be among the many attractions of the Berwyn Shops inviting artists, non-artists, organizations, and any interested parties to create their own painting during shop hours before our visitors very eyes. This day long event will be stationed at the back of the shops, giving all who wander the opportunity to watch your work progress throughout the day.

Capturing the essence of Berwyn’s creativity, connection, and special moments is the very heart of our mission so if you’re up for getting your hands dirty or touching brush to canvas, sign up to be a selected artist for these day long events! You get to choose your painting idea, get it approved by us, and then share it with the community – did we mention you even get to take home your work of art at the end of the day? Sign up at the button to the right and be prepared with a short artist statement with an idea/sketch upon submission.

The Berwyn Development Corporation reserves the right to approve, disapprove, or dismiss anything at its discretion. All materials (except for the canvas) needed for the painting must be brought and taken by the artist themselves. Arrival and operation rules will be communicated once approved to partake as an artist at the site. The Berwyn Shops and BDC are not responsible for any materials, equipment, or damage of an artist’s belongings during the event.

Private Events

  Private Events

Operating on a case-by-case basis, the Berwyn Shops is excited to announce that we are opening our gates to private events outside of our running business hours. Whether you’re looking to host a private event, outdoor workout class, workshop, photoshoot, or business team bonding – the shops are open to hearing your ideas! These events will require the planning on behalf of the event host as well as any necessary supplies and operation for the day of event. We hope the Berwyn Shops can host more than just our 12 special vendors, but our community as well. This is a place where all can gather, enjoy vendor offerings, or your own events.

If you would like to host a special event at the Berwyn Shops outside of business hours, please send an inquiry to the Project Homegrown Coordinator at Homegrown@berwyn.net. Event inquiries will only be reviewed through these means of communication. Please be prepared with event outline, ideas, and questions prior to inquiry.

The Berwyn Development Corporation reserves the right to approve, disapprove, or dismiss anything at its discretion. All materials and goods necessary for the event must be provided by and cleaned up by event host. Arrival and operation rules will be communicated once approved host an event at the site.
